Being the largest privately-owned investment bank in Turkey and recognized with its foreign trade operations aimed at Africa, Aktif Bank participated in the Africa Financial Industry Summit (AFIS), held for the second time this year for the purpose of making significant contributions to the economy and industry in the continent.
Banks, fintechs, insurance companies, ministries of finance and economy came together at the Africa Financial Industry Summit, held between November 28 and 29 in Lomé, the capital city of Togo, and contributed to the advancement of the African economy and decentralization of the financial access in the continent. Being the only participant from Turkey, Aktif Bank, too, participated in the event during which various organizations took the opportunity to enhance cooperation.
Taking part as a panelist at the "Trade Finance and Correspondent Banking" session as well, Muzaffer Suat Utku, Aktif Bank's Executive Vice President, International Banking, expressed that they have been continuously expanding their banking network in Africa, and said; "We are a key player in the industry thanks to the foreign trade services we offer in the field of international banking not only to the Turkish exporters but also to the whole world. Besides, we are playing a part as the main partner of our exporters in respect of the foreign trade from Turkey to Africa. We are providing the Turkish exporters with the financial bridges, we have established thanks to the knowledge, capability and connections we possess, and we are opening the doors to secure trade for our customers by assuming the bank risks in addition to the timely and fully collection of the export proceeds. Thanks to our Representative Office in Rwanda, in Africa, we are now much closer to our business partners. We feel honored to participate in AFIS along with all such activities of us, and also to find new opportunities for cooperation here".
