Aktif Bank, as the only bank in Turkey receiving awards at the Financial World Innovation competition, one of the most prestigious awards of the world, confirmed its international achievements. Aktif Bank, which was awarded the first prize in the category of "The Most Effective Back Office Initiative" with its UPT (Universal Payment Transfer) product, was also awarded the jury's special award with its "Fraud Application Prevention Platform".

Aktif Bank, was granted two awards in Financial World Innovation Awards, which is one of the most prestigious platforms where the good practices leading the finance sector are evaluated. Aktif Bank left behind 5 finalists which made it to the jury's brief evaluation, including Russia's largest bank Sberbank, and was awarded the first prize in "The Most Effective Infrastructure"category with its UPT (Universal Payment Transfer) product. Aktif Bank, which was awarded the jury's special award "Fraud Prevention Platform" in the same competition, was the only Turkish Bank awarded in the evening which was organized at London Covent Garden.

“A Turkish bank wrote history”

​The General Manager of Aktif Bank Dr. Önder Halisdemir spoke as “when we first created UPT, the domestic money transfer brand of our country, we worked hard on its infrastructure processes and expansion facilities. We knew that it was a good practice of which all the stages were realized with domestic engineering and we wanted it to compete. We, as a principle, do not participate in the competitions which select the best in Turkey. We participate in this platform because here the works of the largest banks of the world compete and the best of the world is selected. We were awarded the first after competing with the giants of the world. Also last year, we were awarded as the “World’s Most Innovative Bank” among the 5 finalists including HSBC and Barclays. I thank PTT and its employees, who are our business partner in UPT and my colleagues in Aktif Bank for this award. This award is an infrastructure award. In other words, it is the product of business processes blended with information technologies and as a result, a product of finance engineering. As a Turkish Bank, Aktif Bank is in an endeavor to perform what it believes is its share. 

In 2011, Aktif Bank was selected as "The World’s Most Innovative Bank " in the "Distribution Channels" category in Financial World Innovation Awards by standing out among the other 5 finalists including HSBC and Barclays. In 2012, it expanded its board of pride by receiving 23 awards of which 21 are international.
