FOOTBALL MATCHES ARE WHAT IS LONGED FOR THE MOST

By means of the survey, it conducted between April 24 and 28, Passo asked the the sports fans and art-lovers to tell the events they longed the most during the course of the pandemic. The survey, responded by approximately 15 thousand individuals revealed that 89 % of the respondents remarked that they have deadly longed for going to the sports events. One third of the respondents, who have marked the sports events, told that "they would go to the matches without a second thought if the matches are played with the spectators."


Covid-19 pandemic not only mounted the social life at home, but also posted off the sports and cultural events to tomorrows. Being the sole official platform for the sales of match and season tickets of 36 football clubs in the Super League and TFF 1.League since April 2014, and having started to offer services also for the world of entertainment and events since March 2019 thanks to its know-how and experience, Passo made a survey with a high level of participation for its users through its website and Passo Mobile Application. Approximately 15 thousand sports fans and art-lovers responded to the survey, which was held between April 24 and 28, with respect to their preferences during the course of the pandemic as well as the impact of the pandemic on their participation in the events.

Football matches are what is longed for the most.


The sports fans were asked to reply the question, "What is your favorite sports event you longed for being at the stadium/hall?" While 94 % of the respondents replied as football, 4% marked the basketball, one percent marked the volleyball and one percent marked the other sports events. While 92 % of the respondents, who remarked that they have longed for the football matches the most, was male, and the remaining 8% was female, and 32 % of the sports fans, who were posed with the question "Would you go to that match if the football team, you support, were to play one just now?", remarked that "they would go without a second thought if the matches would be played for the time being".


While 22 % of the respondents replied that "they would go to the matches 3 months later when they would feel safer", 7 % of the respondents told that "they would go to matches 6 months later when they would feel safer". The portion of 32 consisted of the individuals who told that "they would not go to the matches until the treatment will have been found".


32 % of the sports fans told that "they would go to the stadiums without a second thought for the time being".


32 % of the respondents, who marked the sports events, told that "they would go to the football matches without a second thought" when they were posed with the question that whether they would go to the stadiums.  The percentage of the respondents, who told that "they would go without a second thought" decreased to 14 % when the same respondents were posed with the question about the sports events held at indoor sports halls.


A portion of 47 % of the same respondents replied as "with the spectators", and the group of 31 % marked the answer choice "with the spectators but with a limited capacity" for the question "Should the sports competitions be played with or without the spectators?". The remaining portion of 22 % told that the matches should be played without the spectators. 

Concerts and theaters are also longed too much

The art-lovers were posed with the question "Which event have you longed the most among the art activities?". While 43 % of the respondents remarked that they longed for the concerts, theater and stand-up shows ranked the second with 26 %.  While the individuals, who have longed for the festivals, were represented by 17 %, the portion of 11 % selected the events such as the museums and workshops.  Musicals were also in the list with 3 %.


In order for joining an art activity, 43 percent of the art-lovers are waiting for the time when the treatment will be found.

While only 9 % of the respondents replied to the question "Would you go to an indoor art activity today?" that they would go without a second thought, 19 % of the respondents remarked that they would join three months later, and 11 % remarked that they would join 6 months later when they would feel safe.  43 % of the respondents remarked that they would not join such events until the treatment will have been found, and a portion of 18 percent marked the answer choice "I will not join the events for a good while, even if the treatment would be found".

16 % of the art-lovers told that "they would go without a second thought for the time being" to the outdoor events, and 13 % of the art-lovers told that "they would go without a second thought for the time being" to the movie theaters, and 9 % of the art-lovers told that "they would go without a second thought for the time being" to the indoor events.
