Board Member
Yavuz Yumrukuz graduated from the Department of Economics (English) at Marmara University in 2004. He completed his master’s degrees in Economics at Galatasaray University in 2015 and in Finance at the University of Illinois (UIUC), USA, in 2017. In 2022, he received his Ph.D. in Economics (English) from Marmara University.
Yumrukuz began his career at Turkish Ministry of Labor and Social Security. Between 2006 and 2016, he served as a “Bank Examiner” at the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA), working in the departments of supervision and risk management, conducting on-site examinations of numerous banks.
Within the same institution, he held the positions of Head of Supervision Group (2016-2020), Head of Financial Consumer Protection Department (2020-2022), Head of Supervision Department (2022-2024), and Vice Chairman responsible for the supervision of banks and non-bank financial institutions (2024-2026).
During his executive roles at the BRSA, he represented Türkiye as a member of the Basel Committee’s Supervisory Cooperation Group (SVG), chaired Crisis Management and Resolution Group of the Turkish Financial Stability Committee, served as a member of the MASAK (AML/TF authority of Türkiye) Coordination Board, and acted as Chairman of the Retail Customer Arbitration Committee of the Banks Association of Türkiye (TBB) and the Participation Banks Association of Türkiye (TKBB). He also lectured at Marmara University and Istanbul Medipol University.
As of March 2026, he has been appointed as a Member of the Board of Directors at Aktif Bank.
